Dr. Nourah Hasan Al Qahtani

I have more than 30 years of experience in dealing with various obstetric complications. I have seen so many unfortunate pregnancies ending tragically in the death of the pre-term babies and great trauma to the mother and her family, as a result of limited options in the management of pre-term rupture of membranes. I manage a lot of similar cases in the standard protocols which are ineffective so far. I am sure with my experience and the load of patients in my practice we will be able to offer comprehensive care to those women and their babies by innovating the way we treat those mothers. 2018- present: Chairperson of the obstetrics and gynecology department. 2023-Present: Vice president of the Saudi Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology. 2016-Present: Fellow of the Royal College of obstetricians and gynecologists, UK. 1997- present: Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and gynecologists, UK. 2013-Present: Associate Professor at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University 2006-2013: Assistant Professor at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University. 2002- Present: Consultant in obstetrics and gynecology in King Fahad University Hospital. 1999-2001: Consultant in Abha Private Hospital 1997-1998: Master of Science in obstetrics and gynecology Ultrasound. 1994-1997: Residency training in UK. 1991-1993: general practitioner 1983-1990: Medical student at King Faisal University. As an experienced obstetrician with heavy workload both in private and public sector, my specific roles in this work include: 1.Patient Recruitment: Ensuring the enrollment of suitable candidates for the study, leveraging my expertise to identify and recruit pregnant women meeting the study criteria. Also connecting with colleagues in nearby hospitals to refer patients who meet the inclusion criteria. 2.Administration of PlacentoCordECM Hydrogel: Overseeing and performing the precise administration of the PlacentoCordECM Hydrogel during pregnancy, ensuring adherence to protocol and safety standards. 3.Pregnancy Monitoringt: Providing continuous monitoring throughout the pregnancy, including regular fetal assessments to ensure the health and development of the fetus. Utilizing advanced diagnostic techniques to evaluate fetal well-being and detect any abnormalities early. 4.Reporting of Complications: Vigilantly monitoring for any complications that may arise during the study and ensure timely intervention and management. 5.Data Collection: Collecting comprehensive data throughout the study, including patient demographics, treatment outcomes, and any adverse events. I am currently involved in a research project studying the amniotic fluid microbiome using metagenomic techniques. Aiming to identify specific microbiome signatures that correlate with adverse pregnancy outcomes, including preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) and preterm birth. I have published more than 50 articles over the last 20 years which will help in doing this research. Many of my research is interdisciplinary with other departments in the college of medicine or other colleges in IAU university e.g. College of computer science, college of allied medical science, college of nursing and also with the institute of research.
